Sex trafficking was one of the crimes least expected to take place in America. People were shown a map and asked to point out which countries they thought would have a high crime of human trafficking to which they answered South America, Amsterdam, Thailand, and so on. Sex trafficking is thought to be a crime of countries in poverty. What most people do not know is that America is just as bad as these countries, if not worse. One hundred kids are sold into sex trafficking every year. Gender does not matter since boys are being sold just as much as girls. The law states that any human under the age of eighteen who participates in prostitution is actually a sex trafficking victim. A nonprofit organization called ECPTAT-USA has stepped in to finally raise awareness for these hidden crimes. The stories told by the teens who are forced into child prostitution are quite heartbreaking. These teens are eventually sold to pimps and used as prostitutes.
Humans live in such a shameful universe. These crimes are so heartless. They should never exist. The word rape should not exist. The word should not have a meaning because people should not rape others. This world is so hateful that the next targets are children. Why should the children's innocent souls be punished? Why should they be raped? Why should they be scarred for life? Why should their future and their dreams be ripped away from them? This is not fair. Sex trafficking kids is not fair. Sex trafficking in general is not fair.
